Description

  • add autobrr 1.65.0 with prebuilt binaries
  • autobrr built with go and synology toolchains and use of prebuilt web-dist didn't work
  • include config.toml
    • define custom host (use 0.0.0.0 as default 127.0.0.1 does not work)
    • define logfile and log level
  • initialize sessionsecret the same way as when initially running autobrr without config
  • define GOMAXPROCS since internal code does not work

Closes #6433

TODO:

The creator of the request for autobrr has switched to installation with docker.
So I need feedback on whether anyone is interested in the Autobrr package.
The service and web interface are running, but I don't have Usenet or other logins to test functionality.

@hgy59 This tool seems to be much more focused on torrents than on Usenet. I connected it to Prowlarr and was able to fetch feed data, but couldn’t get it to trigger a download — likely due to my filters not being configured correctly.

Based on what I’ve seen, it doesn’t add much value if you’re already using Sonarr/Radarr with SABnzbd. According to the README:

Software like Radarr and Sonarr utilizes RSS to look for new torrents. RSS feeds are updated regularly, but too slow to let you be a part of what we call the initial swarm of a torrent. This is where autobrr comes into play.

Essentially, it helps torrent users join the initial swarm so they can download files the moment they’re released and improve their upload ratio. For Usenet, downloads are one-way, so ratio isn’t a factor — which makes this tool less relevant for that use case.
