Thread Context Governor (TCG) is a conceptual exploration into how user intent degrades across extended, multi-turn interactions with large language models.
This work originated from observing long conversational threads where the original goal gradually shifted, fragmented, or collapsed under accumulated noise, even when individual turns appeared locally correct.
Rather than treating intent drift as a single-point failure, TCG approaches it as an accumulative process, where small deviations compound over time.
The exploration centers on:
- how conversational goals subtly mutate across turns
- how tone, ambiguity, and local context override initial intent
- why constraints must be explicitly re-established in long sessions
TCG is not a production system. It does not claim completeness, generality, or deployment readiness.
The repository is organized around identified failure modes observed during exploration.
At present:
- Failure modes are identified and are intentionally left undeveloped.
- Each failure mode will be explored and will be added after controlled simulation and understanding.
The intent of TCG is not to control model behavior, but to make long-session instability observable and reasoned about explicitly before attempting mitigation.
