📦 Installation Guide

Prerequisites

  • Home Assistant (version 2023.9 or newer recommended).
  • HACS (Home Assistant Community Store), optional but recommended for easier updates.

Installation Methods

Option 1: Via HACS (Recommended)

  1. Open Home Assistant and go to HACS > Integrations.
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Custom repositories.
  3. Add the repository URL: [https://github.com/Thank-you-Linus/Linus-Dashboard](https://github.com/Thank-you-Linus/Linus-Dashboard) Choose Integration as the category and confirm.
  4. Search for "Linus Dashboard" in HACS, click Install, and restart Home Assistant.

Option 2: Manual Installation

  1. Download the latest release from the GitHub Releases page.
  2. Extract the files and copy the linus_dashboard folder into your Home Assistant custom_components directory.
  3. Restart Home Assistant to load the integration.

🛠️ Setup and Usage

After installation, follow these steps to configure and access Linus Dashboard:

  1. Restart Home Assistant after installing Linus Dashboard via HACS.
  2. Go to the Integrations page in Home Assistant.
  3. Search for and add Linus Dashboard as a new integration.
  4. During the setup process, optionally select a weather or alarm entity (these steps are optional).
  5. Once setup is complete, a new icon with a bowtie will appear in the left-hand menu. Click it to access Linus Dashboard directly.

  • If the icon doesn’t appear immediately, try restarting Home Assistant again.

Fixing Timeout or Red Error Messages

If you encounter an error message like the one below when trying to use Linus Dashboard:

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Clear your cache:

    • For browsers: Clear your browser cache.
    • For the Home Assistant mobile app: Clear the app cache via your device settings.
    • If you're using a reverse proxy or a DNS service like Cloudflare: Clear the cache there as well.
  2. Force a refresh:

    • On Windows: Press CTRL + F5.
    • On Mac:
      • Hold ⇧ Shift and click the Reload button.
      • Or, hold down ⌘ Cmd and ⇧ Shift key, then press R.
  3. Check your setup: Ensure your Home Assistant instance is correctly set up and that there are no network-related issues.
