Closing this PR — the new major version of this dependency is ESM-only, but the consuming package currently uses CommonJS (require()). Upgrading would require migrating the package to ESM first, which is a broader effort beyond the scope of a single dependency bump.

We'll revisit this when we tackle CJS to ESM migration across the SDK packages.
