As much as I like this change at a high level, in reality it causes too many errors.
The updated code will fail to compile if the collection or sequence doesn't support being initialized with the
[]empty array initializer. I tried to find heuristics to make this work well enough, but it still has a 5-10% error rate, which it too high.
