Looking for an opportunity to make a difference while leveraging your software development, product management, procurement, design, content, cloud migration, outreach, or operations skills? We’re looking for candidates passionate about our mission to lead the national effort to understand and manage cyber and physical risk to our critical infrastructure.
Every day, the men and women of CISA work with our partners across the country to strengthen the backbone of our national and economic security. Often we’re behind the scenes making sure that the systems and networks Americans rely on are there when they need them. We work collaboratively with state and local government, private industry, law enforcement, and top-tier researchers. Join the team that is proud to protect!
CISA recognizes the value of its workforce and offers a variety of benefits:
- Flexible work schedules, telework, remote work, and both casual and professional work environments
- Annual leave, sick leave, and paid federal holidays
- Comprehensive benefit options, including medical, dental, vision, life and long-term care insurance, flexible spending accounts, and thrift savings plans
- Access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
- SmartBenefits® — a transit benefits subsidy
- Education and development opportunities such as mentoring programs, leadership programs, and sponsored graduate degree programs
A small shop with a big heart. ❤️ We're looking for both junior and senior developers to help design the tools and systems used by CISA's Vulnerability Management sub-division. These are the folks that perform many of our cybersecurity assessments.
Our development team is responsible for a majority of the repositories in the cisagov organization. Take a look around to get a sense of what we're currently working on. Recently we've been making a big push to cloudify all the things, resulting in our new COOL system. You'll find a good deal of Python, infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Packer), and old-school shell scripting.
We're big fans of open development in government and promote it whenever we can.
We appreciate that software development can be an art as much as a science. Bob Ross got to pick his own brushes, and so can you! There are very few restrictions on what you can craft as your development environment. (But you may get razzed if registry keys are involved.)
If have any questions for our team, please feel free to join the conversation over in the Guild of Developers.
