The WordPress Connections Spoke plugin is designed to work with sites that aggregate content using the WordPress Connections Hub) plugin. The Connections Spoke plugin provides contact and synchronization information that the Connections Hub uses to synchronize content from multiple spoke sites into a single hub site.
The Connections Hub plugin enables a "connection" post type that is designed to connect with sites that have the Connections Spoke plugin enabled and synchronize whatever content the spoke site has specified.
Both the Connections Spoke and Connections Hub plugins requires the WordPress Admin Page Library plugin.
- Download the Admin Page Library files
- Upload the contents of the "admin-page-library-master" folder (apl.php, apl directory) to the WordPress mu-plugins folder
- Download the Connections Spoke files and rename the folder from "connections-spoke-master" to "connections-spoke"
- Upload the "connections-spoke" folder to the WordPress plugins folder.
Network activate the Connections Spoke plugin when you have a large number of spoke sites that you want to connect to a hub site.
Activate the Connections Spoke plugin on the individual spoke sites that you want to connect to a hub site.
The Connections Spoke plugin sets up a Connections Options admin page. This page has settings for specifying which post or page to use for hub synchronization and specifying contact information
The Connections Spoke Contact Information widget uses the contact information specified in the Connections Options admin page. Changes made to the contact information in the widget are automatically updated in the admin page and vice versa. The widget can then be added to a widget area on the spoke site.
