On the first day of the school (Tue, 24 June) the floor will be yours for lightning talks. Lightning talks are:
- informal (we'll have some snacks and drinks at the same time)
- introductory (to put a face to the name; you can share your hobbies, research interest, or anything else you want people to know about you)
- short (< 1 minute per person)
For the lightning talks, you should prepare: A one-page PDF slide that includes your name. The design is entirely up to you. Feel free to include images, text, drawings, or your favorite xkcd strip! The only mandatory item is your name.
Please send the PDF to Juhana Lankinen (CSC) via direct message on chat.csc.fi by Monday, 23 June. Include in your message to Juhana whether you’re okay with us sharing your slide with the other school participants. A quick note like "okay to share" or "please keep private" is enough.
- Insurance is not provided by the organizers. If you feel you may need coverage (e.g., for sports, sauna evenings, or general health), please arrange your own insurance.
- Last, but not least: Clean your desk before departing to the school! The school will be very intensive so you really want to minimize the time spent on duties you drag with you from your office. Either your learning experience or the work you think you would be doing during the school will suffer (probably both).
