Claude Code Router Switcher

A CLI tool for managing Claude Code Router configuration. Switch, add, delete, set different AI models and providers for various router types (default, background, think, longContext, webSearch) with a simple command-line interface.

Development Setup

Prerequisites

• Python 3.11 or higher
• uv package manager

Env Setup

Clone the repository:

git clone https://github.com/eleqtrizit/claude-code-router-switcher
cd claude-code-router-switcher

Re/Install the package in development mode:

make install

Running the CLI

Run in development mode without installation:

make dev

Development Commands

• make test - Run tests
• make lint - Run linters (flake8, mypy)
• make format - Format code with autopep8
• make clean - Clean build artifacts
• make build - Build distribution packages

Usage

# List all models grouped by provider
ccs ls

# Show current router configuration
ccs show

# Change a router setting (auto-detects provider if model name is unique)
ccs change default anthropic,claude-3-5-sonnet-20241022
ccs change think claude-3-haiku-20240307  # Auto-detects provider

Router Types

• default: Default model for general use
• background: Model for background tasks
• think: Model for complex thinking tasks
• longContext: Model for handling long context inputs (requires threshold to be set)
• webSearch: Model for web search tasks

Configuration File

The tool manages a JSON configuration file located at ~/.claude-code-router/config.json with the following structure:
