Unable to switch control mode for DAMIAO motor using switchControlMode

I'm currently using the DAMIAO motor and trying to switch its control mode via the switchControlMode function. However, the motor consistently fails to switch modes.

Which control method are you trying to use? MIT control may be able to achieve the other types of control already.
Setting KD to 0 effectively only uses KP for position control, and a KP of 0 provides velocity control.
