Usage

TCP Connection

To establish a TCP connection, use the following command:

iceping.exe TCP <host> <port>

For example, to ping the host 1.1.1.1 on port 53, you can use the following command:

iceping.exe TCP 1.1.1.1  53
  • <host> Specify the target host, whether it be a hostname (e.g., example.com) or an IP address (0.0.0.0).
  • <port> Choose any integer between 1 and 65535.

Web HTTP/HTTPS Request

To perform web HTTP/HTTPS requests, use the command below:

iceping.exe HTTP <url> <method> <rps> <cps>
  • <url> The URL of the target endpoint.
  • <method> The HTTP method to use (e.g., GET, POST, DELETE).
  • <rps> Number of requests per second (default: 1).
  • <cps> Number of connections per second (default: 1).

HTTP Methods

  • GET The GET method is used to retrieve a specified resource from the server. It is commonly employed to fetch data without causing any modifications. This method is widely used for safe and idempotent operations, allowing clients to access information without altering the server state.

  • POST With the POST method, you can submit data to the server, typically to create a new resource. This method is often utilized for sending data to be processed or stored. It allows clients to send data in the body of the request, enabling the server to handle and respond accordingly.

  • PUT The PUT method is employed to update or replace an existing resource on the server. It allows clients to send a complete representation of the resource they wish to update, enabling the server to replace the existing resource with the new representation.

  • DELETE As the name suggests, the DELETE method is used to remove a specified resource from the server. It allows clients to request the deletion of a resource, resulting in its removal from the server's storage.

  • HEAD This method is similar to the GET method, but it only retrieves the headers of a specified resource without fetching the entire content. It is often used to gather information about a resource, such as its availability or metadata, without transferring the actual data. This method can be useful for performing lightweight checks or retrieving essential information.

  • PATCH The PATCH method is employed to partially update a resource on the server. It allows clients to send modifications to a resource without replacing the entire representation. This method is useful when clients want to make specific changes to a resource, such as updating certain fields or applying incremental updates.

Statistics

IcePing provides statistics to help you analyze the results of your operations. For TCP connections, press Ctrl+C to view the ping statistics. For web HTTP/HTTPS requests, press Ctrl+C to view the request statistics.
