As it looks like this has resolved the linting error, I've cherry-picked the version upgrade into #1623 along with disabling the new lints; once landed I can do new PRs that re-enable the new lints along with addressing their respective violations |

I'm hoping this might fix the sudden linting failures we're getting - note that 9eb129a has been cherry-picked to #1620
