In preparation for our HPy sprint (https://hpyproject.org/blog/posts/2022/07/dusseldorf-sprint-2022/), here is a list of topics we want to discuss or work on:
- Platform tag for (pure) HPy universal binaries
- Sort out what to do about mixed-mode binaries (= universal + legacy)
- HPy porting example (Simon): https://github.com/hpyproject/hpy/pull/246
- Module state (Stepan, Florian)
- Argument clinic (Antonio, Stepan?)
- Cython/HPy (Matti, Florian)
- Upcoming HPy PEP (Tim)
- Support for metaclasses and subclassing on the native side (Antonio, Florian, Stepan, Simon)
- More typing than just "HPy"?
- initially suggested for Numpy porting: https://github.com/hpyproject/hpy/wiki/Numpy-HPy-migration-notes:-blockers-and-concerns
- Mark Shannon suggests something similar in https://github.com/markshannon/New-C-API-for-Python/blob/main/DesignRules.md#provide-a-safe-and-easy-to-use-set-of-casts
- triage GitHub issues and PRs
The names in the parenthesis are just referring to people who were already involved in that topic. Everyone is, of course, free to work on any topic.
