The following change allowed me to process log files that were not compressed. I don't have a lot of experience with Dr Elephant, so I don't know if this is the right approach. It would be nice to have some feedback from the Dr Elephant team. Perhaps, there is a better way to accomplish reading the uncompressed event log files.
