The app errors when I click the mic button

Make sure you are using a supported browser (Firefox is currently not supported). If you are using a supported browser, make sure mimiuchi has access to your microphone.

The mic is enabled but no text is showing up!

The most common cause for this is improper mic setup. To test that your browser is accurately capturing the correct mic, go to Settings > Speech-to-text in mimiuchi and click the "Check" button. It will display the name of the mic being used and how loud the input audio is. Ensure that the "Sensitivity gate" is not set higher than the output level of your mic while talking (Default value is 0).

The mic that mimiuchi says it is using is not the correct mic

If using the web version, your default mic is set by the browser. For Chrome, go to Settings and search for "mic." Then navigate to Site Settings > Microphone (or simply put chrome://settings/content/microphone?search=mic in your search bar).

The app's UI is sometimes unresponsive (especially in the settings page)

In some rare cases, the app's settings can become malformed. The quickest and easiest troubleshooting method for this is to simply go to Settings > General and click the "Reset all settings" button.

VRChat

Text is not showing up in VRChat

If the text is not showing up in VRChat but does show up in the app (Website -> App ❌ VRChat), then your problem is related to OSC. First, ensure that OSC is turned on in VRChat. If it is, check and make sure your connection port and IP line up with what VRChat wants (by default, you send OSC to VRChat on port 9000). If all of this is correct, it's possible your configuration messed up somewhere from an old update. To fix it you can try resetting all Desktop App settings in Settings > General as well as uninstalling and reinstalling the application.
