dorado correct empty output

i have an issue where by when i run "dorado correct -x cpu all_barcodes_12.fastq > ../corrected_reads_12/trial1.fasta", it runs.. but the output file is zero bytes.

Yes. Runs smother but I still get empty files. I keep wondering whether there are Herro dependencies i didn't install

Have you checked out the documentation on dorado correct specifically the section on missing reads?
