Description
Add more / improve current bridge support for Numbers Mainnet
Summary
To strengthen the accessibility and adoption of the Numbers ecosystem, this issue proposes enhancing bridge support for Numbers Mainnet. This includes improving the experience with the current bridge provider and exploring additional integrations to offer users more flexibility, lower-cost options, and broader access to NUM beyond centralized exchanges.
Current Situation
XY Finance is currently the primary bridge for transferring assets into and out of Numbers Mainnet. While functional, there are some notable limitations:
- Bridge fee structures are relatively high, especially for small transactions
- XY Finance, while reliable, is not yet widely adopted by the broader Web3 community
- Limited visibility among mainstream bridge aggregators and DeFi platforms
This presents a challenge for expanding NUM adoption beyond exchange platforms, particularly for partners, dApp developers, and users who prefer self-custody or DeFi-native flows.
Proposal
We propose the following actions:
-
Improve and optimize the current integration with XY Finance
- Work with the XY team to clarify or potentially reduce fees
- Ensure NUM and Numbers Mainnet are positioned prominently on the XY platform
-
Explore additional bridge integrations
- Evaluate options to increase exposure through popular bridge aggregators
- Focus on EVM-compatible bridges with strong community traction
-
Enhance UI and guidance within the Numbers ecosystem
- Add a dedicated bridging page or in-app guidance for new users
- Provide direct links and clear instructions from the dashboard and Capture product
Next Steps
- Coordinate with relevant partners to assess technical and integration feasibility
- Open technical discussions with candidate bridge providers
- Create a roadmap for implementation and testing if a new bridge is selected
