Could use some refactoring. But mainly interested in feedback on how the command could work.

After testing, it looks like it's working fine. I see the user is required to input the desired name of the output timestamp file. Might it be worth making that an optional argument, and when the arguemnt isn't given it defaults to just using the digest itself as the filename (as is the case with the javascript client)?
