I am a Structural Civil Engineer with graduate-level training in seismic analysis and structural modeling. I currently work as a professor at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador (PUCE) and formerly taught at the School of Architecture at the Universidad Internacional del Ecuador (UIDE). I hold a Master’s Degree in Research in Structural Civil Engineering from the Universidad de las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE, and I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences at the Universidad de los Andes (Chile).
My academic and professional interests focus on seismic hazard assessment, high-fidelity structural modeling, and structural analysis. As a consultant, I have contributed to the seismic evaluation and nonlinear design of reinforced concrete structures, particularly for essential and special buildings in Ecuador. Currently I am Nominal Partner at my Consultant Company TORREFUERTE
I am an active member of the Ecuadorian Building Code (NEC15) update committee, specifically in the chapters on:
- Seismic Hazard and Seismic Design
- Seismic Evaluation and Structural Rehabilitation of Existing Buildings
I continuously develop tools and workflows to support my students' learning and always seek to contribute to the broader structural engineering community through open resources and applied research.
