Sinon :

xdg-settings set default-web-browser firefox-esr.desktop
In dconf-editor
:
Change org -> mate -> desktop -> session -> required-components
from
marco

.
In org -> mate -> desktop -> session -> required-component-list
, delete:
filemanager
(otherwise the background window will cover everything)panel
(if you want zero panel)
Identify class_g of a window : xprop WM_CLASS
TERM=xterm-256color emacsclient -nw .bashrc
needed;
but the same command, in GUI, breaks colors.
Need a conditional alias using (I guess)
tty | grep tty > /dev/null && alias emacsclient="TERM=xterm-256color emacsclient"
Tilix is a good compromise:
- It works well with emacs (just needs the melpa package xclip for copy/paste)
- It provides 256 colors.
- It really supports Unicode.
- But it depends on GTk3 and does not provide a text configuration file.
I prefer mate-terminal (even if it is part of the Mate desktop environment).
In comparison:
- kitty does not work well with emacs in console.
- others (even urxvt) does not support Unicode well.
(urxvt .Xdefaults syntax)
