This PR was meant to be made last week Friday; it largely addresses README changes.

This fixes a comment @marcin-sochacki made regarding patch files, and pointing out that we have a local repo for libxml2.

  • instead of providing patch files for each update, versions are now available at build-files/libxml2 under separate branches and a single patch is provided for future versions and upstreaming to GNOME.
  • the README has been updated to reflect the build-files mirror of libxml2 and to simplify some wording.

Please note that the first 4 commits of this branch have already been approved & merged to main.

Should this change remove libxml2-2.14.4.patch?
