Just spent an hour and a half learning what this does the hard way, hopefully this prevents at least a few others from facing the same issues.
Also updated copyright year, because why not.

I've made the warning more visible, and given a proper description of what the flag actually does.
Hopefully this prevents other devs with similarly lacking Git knowledge from learning the hard way 😅
