Hi all, I'm Marcus. I'm a British/French dual national Brexit escapee living in the French alps since 2009. I'm a PHP coder, technical editor, sysadmin, DBA, and security person that's heavily into privacy – I love GDPR! I wrote the Smartmessages.net email marketing system, and I'm the maintainer of PHPMailer, which I migrated to GitHub from SourceForge via Google Code in 2008, and is currently the second-most forked PHP project on GitHub, just behind Laravel!

PHPMailer is used by millions (e.g. WordPress), and I've spent thousands of hours working on it and supporting it through GitHub and Stack Overflow (where I've answered over 1,000 questions on it!). Sponsorship helps me to carry on doing that.

150 is about 1% of those that have awarded GitHub stars to PHPMailer, and 0.0001% of the number of downloads on packagist. That seems like a reasonable target! I'd like to be able to take more time to build a training course for PHPMailer and email in general.
