Supported Input & Output File Formats

Source File Formats :

Chitralekha is currently supporting audio & video from the following sources:

  1. Youtube (All formats)
  2. Google Drive (mp3 files only)

Target File Formats :

Transcription

  • srt (SubRip subtitle file format) - A widely used subtitle file format that contains formatted text with timing information
  • txt (Plain text document) - Unformatted text document that contains plain text organised into paragraphs of five sentences.
  • docx (Microsoft Word document in Office Open XML format) - A Microsoft Word document that contains plain text organised into paragraphs of five sentences.
  • scc (Scenarist Closed Caption file format)- A file format used for closed captions, often associated with Scenarist professional authoring systems for DVDs. (Supported only for English language)
  • TTML (Timed Text Markup Language) - An XML-based markup language used for authoring timed text, including subtitles and captions.
  • sbv (SubViewer) - A subtitle file format that includes timing information and text, commonly used for adding subtitles to videos.
  • rt (RealText) - A subtitle format that contains text and timing information.

Translation We provide translation support for all the above mentioned formats as well as docx-bilingual.

  • docx-bilingual - A Microsoft Word document that contains bilingual content in paragraphs of five sentences each, facilitating translation and comprehension in both languages within a single document.

Voice Over

  • flac (Free Lossless Audio Codec) (recommended)- (By default audios are integrated into flac format) A high-quality audio compression format preserving original sound quality.
  • wav (Waveform) - A standard for uncompressed audio files often used for high-fidelity recordings.
  • mp3 (MPEG Audio Layer III) - A widely used audio compression format that reduces file size while maintaining reasonable sound quality.
  • mp4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) - (To enable mp4 formats, Project Manager/Org Owner needs to enable video integration in project settings) A multimedia container format commonly used for storing audio and video streams.
