Genome tracker release, home page and higher taxon page updates
New feature: Genome Tracker v1.0.0
Additional improvements/refinements:
- home page includes direct link to Genome Tracker
- new taxonomic coverage widget
- species pages updated with selected icon groups in the header
- higher taxon pages redesigned to support:
- new charts and visualisations
- downloadable statistics and graphics
- toggle between card and table views
- download functionality for species data vs genomic data
- filter enhancements and new filter options
Accessibility testing
Accessibility testing was conducted using Lighthouse (Performance: 91, Accessibility: 79). Minor issues were identified, such as missing alt attributes and ARIA labels. These will be resolved in future iterations, with linting in place to support long-term compliance.
The page was developed as part of the Australian Reference Genome Atlas (ARGA), an NCRIS-enabled initiative, powered by the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA), in collaboration with Bioplatforms Australia and the Australian BioCommons, and supported by the Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC).
