Issue

The Pulsar's textures do not match the Cybran faction's aesthetics. Continuation of #5869 (comment).

Description of the proposed changes

  • White color darkened into grey: fits most typical Cybran land units. Brick seems to be an exception on the shininess and I didn't figure out editing within UV lines yet.
  • Brighter #000000 black: Cybran doesn't have perfectly black parts, they're always a slightly brighter black around (18,18,18) (rgb255). Perfect black looks very Aeon.
  • darker blacks for detail lines: The detail lines on Cybran seem to be darker than the surroundings. Bright detail lines in my opinion are an Aeon or even Seraphim look.
  • much less reflectivity (specteam red channel), less shininess (specteam green channel): the reflectivity and shininess made the gray/whites too bright for Cybran. I tried mimicking the brick at first but even with the same albedo and specteam textures I wasn't able to copy it because of the normal map which I don't how to adjust.
  • reduced team color brightness (specteam alpha): the bright team colors stood out a bit much for Cybran (maybe its a bit too dull now though)

Testing done on the proposed changes

Place the Pulsar alongside other Cybran units (all T3 land, SACU (URL0301), other random units) and compare them to make sure it looks somewhat matching.

Additional context

This is my first time editing the textures and it's all just using the curves tool in gimp for now. I want to adjust the top of the weapon cover to be darker and the body to be darker as well, since so many shiny parts is unusual for Cybran units.

Checklist

  • Changes are documented in the changelog for the next game version

Darker white, brighter #000000 black, darker blacks for detail lines, much less reflectivity (specteam red channel), less shininess (specteam green channel), reduced team color brightness (specteam alpha)
