The fact that pyquil is not supporting NumPy 2 via its strict requirements, prevents all its dependents from using NumPy v2 too.

The fact that pyquil is not supporting NumPy 2 via its requirements, means the entire quantum ecosystem that uses Cirq is blocked from upgrading.

Hey @basnijholt. Any status update on when this numpy 2.0 support is planned on being merged and released? We depend upon pyquil in our internal packages here at Q-CTRL and we've been migrating our other repositories over to numpy > 2.0

Hey @basnijholt and @the-iron-ryan - I will take a look at this in the next few days (perhaps in a different MR) and make sure the relaxed constraint doesn't break anything. Thank you!
