OGC e-Learning Strategy

Introduction

The level of detail in the e-learning resources is intended to help implementers and users of OGC Standards to get started with the standards. The e-learning resources are not meant to be a replacement for training courses that are provided by the many experts that participate in the OGC community. The e-learning resources are therefore intended to be supplementary to training courses provided by geospatial subject matter experts.

Resourcing

Several projects and initiatives by OGC Members have contributed content towards the development of the e-learning resources.

The list of contributors can be found at https://github.com/opengeospatial/e-learning/graphs/contributors

OGC Staff will continue to encourage OGC Members to contribute content to e-learning site. In some cases, such contributions may be provided as a deliverable of an external project (e.g. European Commission Horizon Europe projects, or US National Geospatial Intelligence Agency projects).

Roadmap

The development of e-learning resources is dependent on the timing of the release of a standard. That is, development commences once a standard has been approved by the Technical Committee.

2022

In 2022, OGC will develop e-Learning resources for the following standards:

  • OGC API - Processes
  • OGC API - Common
  • OGC API - Tiles

2021

In 2021, OGC developed e-Learning resources for the following standards:

  • OGC API - Environmental Data Retrieval
  • OGC API - Features
