Things to be aware of
ModMyFactory Portable is a portable version of ModMyFactory, meaning it can be placed on external storage and moved between different computers.
Compared to the normal version of ModMyFactory, the portable version retains all core functionality.
All files usually stored in %appdata%\ModMyFactory are stored in the installation folder of the portable version instead. Also all location settings have been removed and also default to the installation folder.
When using the portable version of ModMyFactory the following things need to be considered:
- ModMyFactory Portable requires full write access to its installation directory. Locations like
C:\Program Filesdo not fulfill this requirement! - Stored login credentials will be lost when switching between different computers as the encryption is based on user profile.
- Make sure when switching computers no Factorio Steam version is selected as it may be damaged otherwise (on both computers). The Steam version can be used normally when not switching computers.
