September 20, 2017 Meeting Minutes - DRAFT

Meeting commenced 1:00 PM PST

  • Roll call (Bob R.) - quorum achieved.
  • Noted: Geoffrey Hird from MicroFocus attended, but not in roster.

      • Items from public review comments on 2.40 Errata (Comments: https://www.oasis-open.org/apps/org/workgroup/pkcs11/download.php/58032 )
        • Item 12 – make the doc match the header file wrt CK_TLS_MAC_PARAMS (Chris Z)
        • Item 13 - ECDH2 derive params are not in the docs, but in the header file. (Tony C)
        • Item 14 - Definitions of CKK_MD5_HMAC, CKK_RIPEMD128_HMAC and CKK_RIPEMD160_HMAC were merged from draft of v2.30. They were not present in v2.40 and currently are not described in the docs.(TC decided to remove from header file: Bob R)
        • Item 17 – Definitions of CKA_DERIVE_TEMPLATE is completely new in v2.40e1 headers. It was not present in any older version and currently is not described in the docs. This may be a leftover from v2.30 headers (see #2). (Ballot passed - Chris Z)
        • Item 19 - Definitions of CKD_SHA224_KDF, CKD_SHA256_KDF, CKD_SHA384_KDF, CKD_SHA512_KDF and CKD_CPDIVERSIFY_KDF are completely new in v2.40e1 headers. This may be a leftover from v2.30 headers (see #2). (Bob R)

Items from public review comments on 2.40 Errata 01 that TC wanted to try to take action on for 3.0 - proposals required.

Item 12 – make the doc match the header file wrt CK_TLS_MAC_PARAMS (Chris Z)

  • deferred.

Item 13 - ECDH2 derive params are not in the docs, but in the header file. (Tony C)

  • deferred.

Item 14 - Definitions of CKK_MD5_HMAC, CKK_RIPEMD128_HMAC and CKK_RIPEMD160_HMAC were merged from draft of v2.30. They were not present in v2.40 and currently are not described in the docs.(TC decided to remove from header file: Bob R)

  • Bob has made changes, will be uploading soon. As soon as uploaded, will remove from list.

Additional ECC Curves (Darren J)

  • Darren: writing 3 lightweight proposals will share with the TC. 2 are ready, and a 3rd will be out shortly. People have different ideal approaches, want to let consensus decide. Please provide early feedback so he can flesh out one for voting.

KMIP Mappings (Tim H)

  • deferred.

IPsec Derive (Bob R)

  • Bob hasn’t written anything, yet, and it should be done by now if it was going to go in. Will push to next release.

SP-800-108 - KDF (Darren J)

  • Been uploaded for awhile, only a small amount of feedback to date.
  • Darren moves to open a ballot for inclusion in 3.0 spec, Greg seconded. No objections, abstentions or comments. Motion approved.

GCM/CCM Errors (David G)

  • Out for vote, please review and cast your vote.

Array Attributes wording update (Tim)

  • Deferred.

Provisioning (Bob R)

  • Greg S moves to open a ballot to approve Bob R's proposal for inclusion in 3.0, Gerry seconded. No objections, abstentions or comments. Motion approved.

Forward Planning

  • Tony hasn't had a chance to set up a call with Bob and Valerie, yet.
