Assembly Validation

Assembly validation is a really important step of any project that requires genome assembly. Assembly validation allows for one to check the quality of the assembly against the reference genome, and verify the quality of the assembled genome.

For the purpose of this project, MUMmer was used. MUMmer is a visualisation software that compares the assembled genome with the reference genome, and plots a graph which shows the quality of the assembly. NUCmer which is a part of the MUMmer software package allows for a clearer visualisation than MUMmer itself.
